TRACK OF THE WEEK
Dragonette: Easy
In anticipation of the truly brilliant Dragonette releasing a new single in August, here's a track off their last album Fixin to Thrill. It is endorsed by none other than Lindsay Lohan, who tweets: "Download 'easy' by Dragonette – asap*."
If a succinct tweet from a fading teen star isn’t enough to get you lot to listen to this band, then we don’t know what is.
N-DUBZ WATCH
Dappy ain’t that happy, alas. Despite owning a flash pad in south London, Dappy would rather be living at home with his mum, back in Camden. “He won’t stay at his flat but he’s still paying through the nose for it. He doesn’t like the area and prefers to hang out where he always has,” our source sympathises.
* It's not been a good week for pop- star health. Poor Cheryl Cole has only gone and contracted malaria during her recent holiday to Tanzania. She was taking her anti-malaria tablets diligently, but still managed to pick up the disease. She's since cancelled all X Factorcommitments for the coming week, and is, hopefully, taking care of herself.
*Also in the world of unwell popstars, Edward, of Jedward fame fell on his foot at a gig last week and tore a number of ligaments. Ever the trooper, he carried on dancing on the injured hoof, shouting "I'm cool!", and crawling around the stage. Check it out for yourselves here: www.tinyurl.com/jeddown.
*Finally, in the most bizarre twist of all, Samantha Fox has rabies. (Pop Corner is not making this up.) The Touch Mesinger was feeding stray cats outside a restaurant in Thailand last week (as you do) and a malicious moggy attacked her. Says Sam "one was laying on my feet and I thought we were getting on really well so I went to stroke him, but he bit me so hard, it went down to the bone". Cat's life, eh?
