This week AILBHE MALONEneeds a bit of downtime
TRACK OF THE WEEK: Goby Delilah. Delilah has been on our radar for a while now, and as she gears up to release her debut album (2012 is the latest report), it's time to give her a slot in Track of the Week. Gosamples Chaka Khan's (and Liberty X's) Ain't Nobodyand is a sketchy slow-jam, built on sparse strings. It's an exercise in understatement and is the definition of whopper.
Poor oldRihanna's not been feeling the best. The singer had to cancel a gig in Sweden due to the flu, and it seems like her doctors are worried she's going to burn out, the Sunreports. Their source claims: "Rihanna is running on empty but she's still been going out drinking and living it up. She doesn't have any downtime where she can completely relax. She spends most of her time in the studio, on stage or in clubs." Sounds like she needs more R'n'R and less SM – that's studio time and media appearances – what did you think we meant?
Cheryl's backin the studio – this time working with now-manager Will.I.Am. And Will's got big plans for her. Speaking to New, he explained that the album has "got a really great dance feel to it – it's going to be played in clubs across the world. This is her best work yet. I don't often say things like this, but I think this album will make her a household name in the US."
It's beena big week for the Biebz, and it's only getting bigger. Following his manager's declaration that Bieber has, ahem, physically come of age, a fan has filed a paternity lawsuit, claiming that he's the Bieberdaddy of her three-month old child. Bieber's team have denied the incident, stating: "while we haven't yet seen the lawsuit, it's sad that someone would fabricate malicious, defamatory and demonstrably false claims. We will vigorously pursues all available legal remedies to defend and protect Justin against these allegations."
