Pop corner: heroes and zeros of the week

Cheryl, Selena, Gaga and Derulo

TRACK OF THE WEEK
Cheryl – I Don't Care
Opening with "waking up like an animal, diagonal, in a cold and empty bed", you can tell that Cheryl (no surname now) means business. She swears in the chorus (amazing), the backing track has a Girls Just Wanna Have Fun vibe (amazing), and the song was co-written by Bonnie McKee, who also wrote Teenage Dream (amazing). So yeah, we're big fans.

If you ever wondered how Lady Gaga spends her spare time, we have the answer. In a chat with Reddit, Gaga said: “I’m really into healing, meditation, and helping to take care of those around me. When I’m not working I’m really a traditional Italian girl at heart. I like to cook, keep everyone in a peaceful place, and reflect on the ways I can spread love with every invention.” So now you know.

HERO OF THE WEEK
Selena Gomez, for growing up. Selena told Into the Gloss: "It's been such a transitional year for me – I moved out of my parents' house this year and into my own place." She went on: "The older I get, the prouder I am to be a woman in this industry. When I was younger and running around all the time on tour, I don't think I took the time to notice how being a woman in my position is really a gift."

ZERO OF THE WEEK
Jason Derulo, who broke up with Jordin Sparks over the phone. Derulo explained during a radio interview that he wasn't around to break the news in person. He added: "Every relationship has its ups and downs and you know, when you start having more downs than ups, you know, you gotta take a look at your relationship and be like, you know, 'Is this something that I'm supposed to be doing . . .?" Move onwards and upwards, Jordin.
