Pop Corner: Little Mix get censored, Ariana Grande moves on, Ed Sheeran splits from 1D

It’s pop high school, and Little Mix have graduated to being the cool girls with their skirts rolled up, snogging by the bike sheds

Little Mix: "Their best single yet"
Little Mix: "Their best single yet"

- Track of the week: Love Me Like You by Little Mix
Taking the drumbeats from Be My Baby and the lovestruck soppiness of early One Direction, Little Mix have dropped in elements of Katy Perry raunch to make their best single yet. If this is pop high school, they've graduated to being the cool girls with their skirts rolled up, snogging by the bike sheds. 10/10

- Zero of the week is censorship, according to Jesy Little Mix. She told the Daily Star that our track of the week originally had a fruitier title. Love Me Like You was originally F**k Me Like You, because that's what the song is about. But we had to censor it because it was too naughty." She continued, "I mean, imagine us singing that? The only person who can get away with that is Rihanna!"

- Hero of the week is Ariana Grande, who is moving onwards and upwards post break-up (with Big Sean, remember?) She told V magazine that her new record won't feature heartbreak. "There aren't any break-up anthems because I had moved on. I was like, all right. Well, f**k it." She went on: "I didn't want to make a p****d-off break-up song. I was not focused on that. Everything is nice and great right now – why would I write about some bulls**t?"

- Ed Sheeran won't be working with One Direction in the future (though he's written for them before), he told MTV news. "They've gotten to a point where they know how to write songs. Harry was 16 when I first met him, but now he's 21 and has written with everyone in the world and learned how to write songs, so they don't really need as much help anymore."
