This super-chilled track takes its cues from ’90s slow jams, despite its singer having a name more suited to a nana. But what’s really sweet about it is how stream-of-consciousness the lyrics are (“Driving on the wrong side, thinking of you”, “Oh my god I’m a mess”). Mabel show how much you live inside your own head when you have a crush: all that matters is the next encounter, and all you can do is think about them.
Zero of the week is
Pokémon Go
, according to Rihanna. During a recent concert, she exclaimed to the crowd: “Don’t want to see you texting your boyfriends or your girlfriends. I don’t want to see you catching any Pokémons up in this bitch.” Point taken.
Hayley from Paramore told
Rock Sound
that she’s become more private over the years.
“I keep some stuff inside my heart and my gut, almost as fuel, but for the most part of all my mistakes and all of the things that I was maybe ashamed of, and all of the hurt and the pain that I’d felt or possibly inflicted . . . that comes out.”
She went on: “It’s hard to wear your heart on your sleeve and still keep secrets. I’ve had to learn that the hard way because there are some things that I’ve lived out, and some things I’ve openly talked about, and then I’ve had to snap myself back in.”
Heroes of the week are Demi Lovato and Nick Jonas.
[ Nick explained to Billboard magazineOpens in new window ]
that Demi is always there for him when he has girl problems.
“My first instinct is to be like, let’s get out of the shit, let’s pull ourselves out of the rough. Demi can sit there a little longer. I’m in a bizarre time in my life where I’m single, but that has been tricky. And she likes drama, so I’m able to talk about my dating shit without feeling bad.”
Demi then added: “I’m like, ‘Soooo, what’s the gossip? Who is it? Tell me everything!’ . . . I give him a lot of advice. He doesn’t always take it.”
