Pop Corner: Timberlake goes retro and Selena Gomez says she is her own woman

Rihanna is full of praise for J-Lo’s choice of denim footwear for Ain’t Your Mama video

Track of the week: Can't Stop The Feeling by Justin Timberlake

This new track from Mr JT – who’s gust been announced as guest of honour at this weekend’s Eruovision finals on Saturday night – feels like it’s been here forever. It could sit happily on a Spotify playlist of “Hits of the 70s”, and is tailor-made for a wedding disco. But it never feels cheesy, thanks to some nifty guitar lines that edge the disco groove away from parody, and the vocal panning that circles you like a group hug on the dancefloor.

Hero of the week is Selena Gomez, who doesn't want a squad to support her on tour. She told Entertainment Weekly: "I've worked for my whole career, and I've always wanted it to be about that. I've been in so many situations where it's like, 'Oh, you're friends with this person? You're with that person?' All this credibility s**t that drives me crazy. I love being able to work with other artists I admire, but I have a lot to do on my own before I am willing to make it all about embracing other people."

Not only has Rihanna released a high-heel collab with Manolo, she's stoked to see other celebs wearing her shoes. J.Lo sports the "9 to 5" (a dashing Puss-in-Boots pair ofdenim thigh-highs) in the video to "Ain't Your Mama". Rih wrote on Instagram: She wore "The 9-5" in a video !!! Mayyyyjorrr!!! Yaasssss @jlo! Thanks for the support! I'm having such a f*ckin moment knowing that forever I have proof of a bad one like you in my designs!"

Zero of the week is singing live, according to Victoria Beckham. She admitted her mic was turned down at some Spice Girls shows. She spoke at a Vogue event, joking: "they used to turn it off and just let the others sing. I got the last laugh – now my mic is well and truly on finally." She went on: "When all the other girls were being fun and spontaneous and jumping on tables I was always the one checking the table wasn't going to collapse. I was always the sensible one." You're our kinda gal, posh.
