TRACK OF THE WEEK: Sleep Paralysis by Gabriel Bruce

TRACK OF THE WEEK:Sleep Paralysis by Gabriel Bruce. We've had an eye on this young man for a while now, and debut single Sleep Paralysis is – forgive the pun – a sleeper gem.

Vocally, we’re talking Nick Cave and Tom Waits mixed up in a gravelly stonedash, while lyrics have morose Leonard Cohen slant (“I had a feeling I was dead”). Totally not normally our thing, right? Except there’s a dose of high drama, and a catchy hook that keeps things the right side of seriousface.

* Katy Perry'sbeen talking about the future, and has mentioned the dreaded 'A' word. Yes, Katy's going acoustic. She told the Sun: "I've always wanted to make something like an acoustic record." She continued "my favourite record is Patty Griffin's Flaming Red. I discovered it when I was in Nashville. I definitely want to do a Patty Griffin-esque thing at some point. It's something that I'm really excited about because I know I can do it and I haven't really played that card yet."

Oh K-Pez, just because you can do something doesn’t mean that you should.

* Nicki Minajis unleashing Roman in recent interviews – especially when the topic of her young fans comes up. Speaking to the Guardian, she declared: "Why do people ask me to lose swear words? Do people ask Eminem to lose swear words? Do they ask Lil Wayne to lose swear words?"

Minaj bemoaned rap’s double standard, continuing: “I used to see Eminem in concert and people were bringing their little brother or whatever. Nobody stops them and says, ‘Would you stop swearing, Eminem, for loads of money?’ I don’t get it, I don’t get it.”

* Bieber's beenbacktracking this week. In an interview with Le Parisien, he tried to move the attention away from his high-profile relationship.

“One day, I will get engaged, when I have found the right person in five or 10 years. It doesn’t mean Selena is not the right person though! She’s going to kill me if I say that! It is not easy to be so young and to have a relationship with someone that doesn’t stay private.”
