It’s been a big week for Dublin’s ever-evolving independent label Richter Collective. Not only has it announced a partnership with US label Sargent House, but it has been asked to curate the Lighthouse Stage at the upcoming Forbidden Fruit festival at Royal Hospital Kilmainham on June 4th and 5th.
The Cast of Cheers, Squarehead, BATS, Not Squares, Enemies and Sargent House-signed band Tara Melos have been added to the bill on June 5th, while other new non-Richter additions to the weekend include Bombay Bicycle Club and SpankRock. The Flaming Lips will headline Saturday's show, and Aphex Twin will close the curtains on Sunday.
Mick Roe, who runs Richter Collective and manages The Cast of Cheers, said that it was a privilege to be asked to curate a stage at such a diverse festival.
"Even though the bands we've selected are all quite different in style, I think what ties them all together is an energetic and really enjoyable live set," he said. "We sign almost all of our bands on the strength of their live sets. We hope it'll be a good showcase of both our roster and our friends." forbiddenfruit.ie
