Adam Beyer has spent nearly two decades in the big-room techno game. It’s only in recent times that more and more people have copped on to what the Swedish producer and DJ is all about. They’ve also fallen for Beyer’s particular sound, a wash of tough rhythms which he has fine-tuned since those early releases on Stockholm record shop Planet Rhythm’s label, and which were in thrall to such pioneers as Jeff Mills and Surgeon.
It’s come full circle now, with many aspiring producers seeing a comparison to Beyer’s work as something to write home about. His own strike rate continues to be as impressive as always – even on the talent-spotting front, with his Drumcode label providing a home for such artists as Jesper Dählback and Joel Mull.
