When they come to write the book on the twists, turns and mad adventures that Irish clubland has experienced over the past quarter of a century, there will be plenty in there on Shane Johnson and Greg Dowling. Cork’s house ambassadors since they were at the helm at Sweat in Sir Henry’s back in the day, the pair have since moved into production and developed a fine reputation home and away for sleek, classy, deep house.
Their albums to date – Lil Hand back in 2004 and this year’s Draw the Line – show that they’ve a gift for both selecting the right collaborators and coming up with beautifully finessed grooves, rich with jazz and soul influences.
They’ve had a few hometown stands since their days in Henry’s and can now be found once a month at the Pavilion. A night for anyone who appreciates the finer things in house music.
