IT MAY have taken him six years to honour his promise, but Robbie Williams will return to Dublin for a one-off gig next month. The sometime-Take That member will play at Dublin’s O2 on September 14th, with all proceeds from the gig going to Unicef Ireland and Childline.
Williams's last Irish gig was a disastrous event at Croke Park in 2006, during which a spectacular entrance went wrong and he had to halt the gig to be rescued by the stage crew. Afterwards, he promised to make it up to fans by playing a one-off gig in Dublin, but hasn't toured in Ireland since. Next month's is one of only four planned for the singer, who reportedly has a new album due out in the coming months.
