It’s no exaggeration to say that Shine has been one of Irish clubland’s leading lights for the past 14 years. Plenty of other club nights and once-stellar venues have come and gone in the same period, but this Belfast favourite continues to set a benchmark for house, techno and everything in between.
As befits a club marking this milestone, the birthday line-up represents Shine’s past, present and possible future. Headliner DJ Sneak brings his trademark Chicago house sound to Belfast, and he’s joined in the main room by Paul “Bobby Peru” Woolford and Shine residents Alan Simms and Simon McDermott, who should be as proud as punch tonight.
In Room 2, it’s Aussie drum’n’bass roughnecks Pendulum (pictured below), London dubstep scientist Skream and Space Dimension Controller, while fidget-house proponent and Dubsided act Jesse Rose joins Timmy Stewart in Room 3. Get ready to join the party.
