How do you get to the gig – limo, taxi, walking?I get my mum to drive me.

What's the best gig you've been to?I saw Stars of the Lid years ago in Cork and that was serious. I left tripping balls.

And the worst?I have never been to a bad show, especially not a terrible, terrible show by one of the most popular bands in Ireland.

What are your favourite and least favourite venues? One of my favourites is definitely the Pavilion in Cork. My least favourite is the O2 because it's too small to fit all my fans.

Who is the most famous person to have shown up at one of your gigs?Mmoths.

Most embarrassing on-stage moment?I don't think I could pick just one.

Chatting between songs – good or bad?Great if it's banter, like. Not great if you're trying to sell me stuff.

How many roadies does it take to change your lightbulbs? (ie, how big is your entourage)?

As many as I can get in for free without being questioned by the venue.

Have you a special stage wardrobe?I used to wear a headband because I sweated so much, but its upkeep was too much hassle.

Any useful stage tips?If using a laptop, try to make your show as visually dull and unengaging as humanly possible.

What's the worst thing ever thrown at you?My girlfriend threw herself on me the first time we met. That was pretty horrific.

If you could be in any other band, which one?Emerson, Lake and Palmer.

Who's invited to your aftershow party?Everybody except Brendan Canty.
