Though Dublin is a city in need of a dedicated jazz venue, there are several bars and basements that cater to this end of the market.
KC Peaches on Nassau Street has developed a reputation for its red hot Saturday-night sessions. Descend the basement steps and you’ll find James Mackin on drums with guitar virtuoso Mike Nielsen hosting a carousel of guests from 8pm. This week, saxophonist Richie Buckley, one of our finest jazz exports, will be ripping it up with Nielsen, Mackin, and Neil O’Loghlen on double bass. Admission is free but reservations are recommended, and don’t forget to make a donation. While you’re there, get stuck into the venue’s excellent wine and food. Recommendations? Order the Durrus fondue, share the Colcannon and wash it down with a bottle of the Château Camplazens La Garrigue.
