Janelle Monae ft. Jedenna - Yoga
When Janelle Monae's Wondaland imprint inked a distribution deal with Epic in February, the 29-year-old raved about the opportunity she had, as a black female label boss, to give voice to fresh talent. She'd heard President Obama is a fan of her music, and talked about the responsibility she felt, as an artist, in having the ear of the most powerful man on earth. So what's the new venture's debut release? Well, it's a song about butts. "Baby bend over," sings Monae, one of the singularly talented artists of her generation. "Let your booty do that yoga." (If those lyrics are too cryptic, the video fills in the blanks.) Bah. You're better than this, Janelle.

Low Light Mixes - The Ambient Dishwasher
Self-confessed "non musician" Dave Michuda created this track by recording one of his household appliances, putting that recording on a loop and processing it through the Mac programme Paul's Extreme Sound Stretch. So, basically, this is the sound of some guy's dishwasher running for 20-odd minutes. It's not bad. Indeed, if Boards of Canada had put it out, it would probably be hailed as a work of genius.

Sinead Harnett - She Ain't Me
Thai-Irish vocalist Sinead Harnett previously crossed our radar as guest vocalist on hits for Rudimental, Disclosure and Wiley. Now she's got a solo album on the way. And, with the likes of TMS and James Fauntleroy on board, she may just be one to watch.

Jaime xx - Gosh Young
Director Erik Wernquist used high-res images from deep space to create this video for Gosh, the monster opening track from Jamie XX's debut solo album In Colour (out June 1st.) The finished product is spectacular. The majesty of creation, the vast infinity of the cosmos, some idiot shouting "Oh my gosh, oh my gosh" every 10 seconds... It's all there. Jamie XX plays the Forbidden Fruit festival on May 30th.
