Shuffle: This week’s best clips, singles, downloads and audiostreams

This week in music: Hozier's new video, Carly Rae Jepsen's comeback, Big Sean and a Dee-Lite remix

Hozier - Someone New
3/5

On the second single from his eponymous debut album, the globe-conquering Irishman claims to fall in love with a different person every single day. By my calculations, this would suggest that the amorous balladeer is currently in love with 9,125 people – roughly the population of Longford town. (Maybe he is in love with the entire population of Longford town? Maybe that’s why they built the bypass – to keep him at bay!)

Carly Rae Jepsen - I Really Like You
2/5

Someone with a lot of time on their hands has worked out that Carly Rae Jepsen's latest comeback single repeats the word "really" 67 times. The as yet unreleased video reportedly includes cameos by Tom Hanks and Justin Bieber, who are really, really, really big stars. Personally, I really, really, really liked that single she put out three years ago (Call Me Maybe) This one, really not so much.

Big Sean - One Man Can Change The World
4/5

Def Jam The closing track from Big Sean’s Dark Sky Paradise album is a civil rights anthem, dedicated to his recently deceased war veteran grandmother, that also, in a somewhat unorthodox departure for this genre, contains an odd digression about meeting Jim Carrey at a White House reception. As one does.

Questlove, Black Thought & Charli XCX - Groove Is In The Heart
4/5

Dee-Lite's Groove Is In The Heart was one of the classic records of the early 1990s and a dancefloor staple. This contemporary reworking of the song by Charlie XCX and various members of the Roots (for a Target advert in the US) doesn't mess with the original formula unnecessarily. The crux of the song's appeal remains that seductive hook and that infectious bassline. And no, you couldn't ask for another.
