It's been a fantastic season of festivals, but it's not over yet. Over 40 bands are gearing up for Spirit of Folk 2014, running from September 19th-21st in Dunderry Park in Co Meath. With 25 acres of wooded parkland and lakeland, the camping festival hosts two stages of live music from the folk, trad and bluegrass genres.
Headliners Kila will share the stage with acts including Tupelo, voted best folk act in the Hot Press Readers Poll in 2013, In Their Thousands, a four-piece outfit comprising alt-country, folk & rock; Dan Amor, Hailing from north Wales, and making his way to Ireland for the first time and The Emerald Armada, an energetic festival-favorite and Belfast born and bred.
Alongside the music there'll be lots of alternative events including storytelling and poetry reading by Pat Speight, Eddie Lenihan and Aideen Mc Bride as well as talks and workshops on ancient druidism and shamanism, African song and dance workshops, yoga, astronomy and bushcraft.
Spirit of Folk is a family-oriented festival with great camping and facilities. Weekend tickets cost €70 and day tickets cost €40. To purchase your Spirit of Folk 2014 tickets go to https://entertainment.ticketsolve.com/shows/873515816/events
