After the runaway success of last year’s event, the Body Soul Festival will return to the grounds of Ballinlough Castle, Co Westmeath, in June. A spin-off of the hugely popular area of the same name at Electric Picnic, the inaugural festival sold out in 2010, buoyed by hot temperatures and blue skies.
The line-up for this year's festival on June 18th and 19th includes American instrumentalists Holy Fuck, Swedish electronic musician The Field, dubstep act Mount Kimbie, Lamb, Fat Freddy's Drop, Arborea, The Correspondents, Toro y Moi, Plaid, DJ Joris Voorn and Brandt Brauer Frick. Irish acts on the initial list include Daithí Ó Dronaí, Cloud Castle Lake and Lisa O'Neill.
More names will be announced in the coming months. There'll also be numerous art installations, a Soul Kids garden, a hot tub area and the return of the moonlit Saturday Night Masquerade Ball, before a closing lakeside fire ceremony on Sunday night.
"The exciting thing about the weekend is that you never know what to expect – but you're guaranteed to walk away with a whole new perspective on what a festival can actually be," said festival director Avril Stanley. Limited early-bird weekend camping tickets are on sale now for €99, with Sunday-only tickets priced at €55. bodyandsoul.ie
