With Adam Granduciel filling the middle of a vocal Venn diagram featuring Bob Dylan and Bruce Springsteen and a penchant for grabbing beautifully obvious riffs and elevating them to protracted greatness The War On Drugs are certainly one of the most enjoyable rock bands around. They fill the rafters of the Electric Arena with their beautifully layered sincerity. Riffs and rhythms carry on in gorgeous fullness for yards and yards. And ‘Under the Pressure’ gives the Picnic one of its moments of the weekend. This is a truly excellent band in their element.
