JAZZ
Sligo Jazz Project Hawk's Well Theatre, from Tuesday, see Listings for details, sligojazz.ie
The west of Ireland’s jazz capital delivers the goods again this year with a starry line-up that would shame many a festival twice its size. Tunisian Oud master Dhafer Youssef opens the festival at the Hawk’s Well on Tuesday night, and UK/ US supergroup The Impossible Gentlemen will draw a discerning crowd on Wednesday. The Dublin City Jazz Orchestra’s stock is rising all the time but it will really hit the roof on Thursday night when they are joined by US saxophone maestro Ernie Watts (left). Continues next week.
