"We have family in Sligo, Cavan and Galway. My mum, who works as a nurse, was born in Dublin, and her aunty used to have a farm, so we went over there every summer. I play the tin whistle and the bodhrán.
"In Harrow, the area in London where I'm from, there's a small Irish community - I did Irish dancing every weekend, but we weren't forced into it. It was good for me, I think.
"My granny was Irish, too. Family is really important to me. I remember when she died, we had the wake and I thought it was a really healthy way of dealing with death, socialising, talking, relating stories. A lot of my songs are storytelling and that's a very Irish thing.
"There's a strong folk element in what I do, although with a definite modern twist. I love folk music - The Pogues, The Dubliners, Christy Moore. Definitely, there's that background to my music. I'm really excited to be coming back to Ireland - all my extended family members have already bought tickets for the shows."
