BE KIND REWIND
***
Directed by Michel Gondry. Starring Jack Black, Mos Def, Danny Glover, Mia Farrow 12 cert
Black and Mos Def play employees at a video store who, following an unlikely disaster that wipes all their stock, decide to remake the movies themselves. Both hip and heart- warming, Gondry's flick manages to avoid being too clever. The making-of featurette is as weird as you'd expect.

History is reduced to soap opera in yet another movie on the sexual exploits of Henry VIII (Bana, miscast) as he becomes involved with Anne (Portman) and Mary Boleyn (Johansson).

An FBI agent (Lane) hunts a serial killer who devises brutal torture for his victims and attracts a huge online audience to observe their deaths. As his camera records their abuse, the movie's veneer of moral outrage is exposed as hypocritical and exploitative.
