THE Irish World Music Centre was set up in 1984 on the arrival of Micheal O Suilleabhain (above) as the first holder of the new chair of music at the University of Limerick. Initially concerned with research and innovation in Irish and Irish-related music world-wide, the centre now offers nine taught MA programmes.
