THE Tidy Towns award winning village of Keadue, Co Roscommon becomes the Mecca for harpists and other traditional musicians over the next 10 days. The international harp competitions begin on Monday. A symbolic wreath laying ceremony on the grave of the Irish bard, O'Carolan, also takes place on Monday at 11 a.m.
Non harpists may like to enter the door dancing competitions on Monday at 7 p.m. Meanwhile, those who prefer to watch and listen should head for Keadue church on Saturday night for the concert of world renowned harpist, Maire Ni Chathasaigh and guitarist Chris Newman.
