FOUR CLUBS - Old Belvedere, Leinster, Merrion and YMCA - keep Dublin interest alive in the Royal Liver Irish Senior Cup, which reaches the third- round stage today.

But as team secretary Gerry Murphy announced yesterday, Old Belvedere will be able to field only four first team regulars in their away match against Bready.

The Old Belvedere men knew well in advance that they would be in trouble having reached this stage of the competition, as an extraordinary set of circumstances combined to decimate the side. Shane Moore and Paul O'Riordan are in Bermuda with the national under-19 team, Peter O'Reilly is Lions- watching in South Africa, while regulars like Barry Tucker and Fintan Synott are on holidays.

And a new arrival in the household has ruled out Paul O'Riordan. The net result is that only Hugh Prior, Anto Canavan, David O'Riordan and Tom O'Gorman are the only regulars.

Leinster also journey north today, to take on Brigade. Since Paul Cron is not eligible under the Royal Liver Cup rules, J P Dwyer, the young all- rounder who has just finished his Leaving Certificate examinations, is given a run; Cron returns to the team for tomorrow's Leinster Senior League match against YMCA.

YMCA, like Merrion, will have home advantage in their third round games against Sion Mills and Strabane, respectively.

The Leinster Senior League continues tomorrow, with three Section A and two Section B matches on offer. And the good news for The Hills, who face CYM at Milverton, is that captain Declan Moore will be back in action for the first time in five weeks after injury.

In tomorrow's other League matches, YMCA face Leinster at Claremont Road, and North County take on Phoenix at The Nevitt.

Ireland's Development team, makes its first appearance of the season tomorrow week in the Senior Interprovincial Championship game against Munster at The Mardyke.
