The title is somewhat misleading, as Mozart wrote only two duets for tenor and baritone, though both are included here. Consequently the bulk of the disc is made up of arias from this talented set of brothers, Christoph being the tenor and Stephan the baritone. In the two duets on the disc (both of them brief), the voices combine very effectively, with neither dominating. For the solo items, Christoph's light, slightly plangent lyric tenor glides impressively over the difficulties of Un' aura amorosa (from Cosi fan Tutte). Stephan uses his refined lyrical baritone to great effect in the concert arias, though he is less subtle in the Serenade from Don Giovanni. With refined accompaniment from the orchestra, sensitively directed by Sigiswald Kuijken, this is an appealing disc. www.bmgclassics.de
