Hollywood scenery breathed a sigh of relief last week when it was announced that the actor who most likes to sink his teeth into chair legs and curtain rails is to take some time off. Sean Penn, recently separated from his wife Robin Wright, cited personal reasons for dropping out of Asger Leth's Carteland the Farrelly brothers' The Three Stooges. The latter production, which was to feature Penn as Larry, Jim Carrey as Curly and Benicio Del Toro as Mo, sounded particularly promising. Oh, well.
