THE overall level of pensions coverage will decline if present trends for workers in small businesses continue, the Pensions Board warned yesterday.

Ms Anne Maher, chief executive of the board, said only 16 per cent of people working in small firms belonged to an occupational pension scheme, compared to 79 per cent of employees in large firms.
