AILBHE MALONEis preparing for Beyoncé's baby shower
* TRACK OF THE WEEK
Marvin’s Room – JoJo
Look! It's JoJo! Of Leave (Get Out)fame! And she's back! There have already been teasers for her new album (supposedly out in autumn this year, but given JoJo's ongoing legal wranglings with her record label, we wouldn't advise anybody to hold their breath on that one) but Marvin's Roomsurpasses all of them. She's using grown-up words and singing about drunk dialling and covering a Drake track! And by gum is it brilliant. This has been on repeat in Pop Corner towers for three days solid and hasn't shown any sign of going anywhere.
* Beyoncé's been hitting the promo trail hard ahead of her festival appearances and the launch of her new album 4. Most recently, she filmed an interview with Piers Morgan in which she admitted that "I always said I would have a baby at 30." While she wouldn't be drawn on any further details about Baby B, she elaborated that she felt comfortable with her age.
“I feel like a woman,” she explained. “I’m very aware of who I am. I feel great and I feel like 30 is the ideal age, because you’re mature enough to know who you are and to have your boundaries and your standards, and not be afraid, too polite – but you’re young enough to be a young woman. I’m so looking forward to it.”
* It looks like JLS could soon be adding a new member to the group. The boys were impressed with Rory McIlroy's prize-winning golfing skills – so much so that when they were in Belfast recently, they all met up, the Sunreports. "The JLS lads have become big golf fans and Rory is their hero," the newspaper explains. "They had a laugh-in at Rory's house on Friday and on Saturday got together for a tear-up. The Saturdays and Alexandra Burke were in the city too, so they all ended up out together after the gig." We can only presume that the (golf) club was alive, with the sound of music.
