Track of the week
Troye Sivan - Youth
Aussie Youtuber and general well-known teen Troye Sivan has taken the pop path less trodden. Instead of club bangers, he goes for intelli-pop with an emotional focus (think Bright Light Bright Light, or Hurts). On other words, Troye goes for the heart as well as the head. On Youth he accomplishes this by singing about how great young love is, while also acknowledging that it's not going to last forever. Keep an eye on this one.
Hero of the week is the Clueless musical. Yes, it's coming! Writer Amy Heckerling told New York magazine, that she's eyeing up Katy Perry for the part of Cher. "I love Katy Perry. But you never know what will happen, she has a whole big schedule. She was like `I love it, I wish I could do it." You can expect the music next year, Heckerling adds. "I hope in 2016. If it were up to me it would be tomorrow."
Justin Bieber has given a revealing interview to NME, explaining how isolated he felt when on tour. "You get lonely, you know, when you're on the road. People see the glam and the amazing stuff, but they don't know the other side. This life can rip you apart. [I get depressed] all the time. And I feel isolated." He went on: "You're in your hotel room and there are fans all around, paparazzi following you everywhere, and it gets intense. When you can't go anywhere or do anything alone, you get depressed. I would not wish this upon anyone."
Zero of the week is dancing in front of strangers, according to Meghan Trainor. "I was always too shy and insecure to dance in front of people. Even dancing at my school dances was nerve-wracking for me and I had to do it usually with a group of my best friends," Meghan told Twist magazine. "However, at home, with my friends, I'm a dancing fool. After a few dance lessons I realized the power of knowing how to move your body and what confidence it gives you. I'm obsessed with it now and want to take more classes everyday."
