What you've found...
A reader from Dublin got in touch about the Spar on Lower Grand Canal Street. He says it has twice charged him more than the shelf price, first on a pack of rashers, then on a carton of yogurt.
This can happen when a supplier introduces a special offer but the product's bar-code information isn't amended, according to the manager, who says customers or staff usually spot any discrepancies, which are then rectified.
The reader also says a nearby branch on Bath Avenue, owned by the same people, charges completely different prices. The manager says the two shops are bringing their prices into line, to reflect Spar's recommended mark-up of up to 29 per cent.
