HAMILTON Osborne King's auction at its Blackrock premises next Wednesday afternoon is particularly strong on furniture. Among the 460 odd lots are examples of Irish work, including an early 19th century long stool, signed by Williams & Gibton (estimate £500-£800); an 18th century mahogany long case clock by Chris Clarke of Dublin (£1,500-£2,000); and another 18th century long case clock, this time in walnut and mahogany, and signed RD Lambert, Dublin (£1,400-£1,800).

A walnut and marquetry inlaid side table from circa 1870, and attributed to Arthur Jones of Dublin, carries an estimate of £1,000-£1,500, while an early 19th century Irish mahogany fold over card table is expected to sell for £1,500-£2,000.

Among the porcelain and glass in the same sale, a pair of Bohemian, ruby, glass stemmed bowls from the early part of this century should make £400-£600; a large Derby Parian figure of a standing, sorrowful female figure by W.R. Ingram is expected to sell for £600-£800; and a continental, printed and painted dessert set, with gilded, pierced trellis borders, has an estimate of £300-£500.

There is a small selection of silver and plate and some pictures, such as a number of old Snaffles prints, which should sell from between £100 and £600 each.
