It’s usually considered enough for a programme to include one monster masterpiece. Friday’s RTÉ NSO concert, however, runs to two. The first half has Janacek’s Glagolitic Mass, a setting of the mass in Old Slavonic, cut from the same cloth as his remarkable Sinfonietta. The second half is given over to Beethoven’s great Eroica Symphony. The orchestra is joined by Katarina Jovanovic (soprano), Karen Cargill (alto), Josef Kundlák (tenor), Matthew Rose (bass) and the voices of the RTÉ Philharmonic Choir for the Janacek, and the conductor is Andreas Delfs.
