Irish director Terry George's acclaimed new film, Hotel Rwanda, which stars Don Cheadle, will add to its awards haul when George and the film's co-producer, A. Kitman Ho, receive the Stanley Kramer Award at the Producers Guild of America awards ceremony on January 22nd. The award will be shared with Luis Mandoki's El Salvador drama, Innocent Voices.
George commented: "Forty years ago Stanley Kramer's genocide masterpiece Judgement at Nuremberg moved and enraged audiences around the world. It is a great honour for Hotel Rwanda to receive the award that bears his name."
Coincidentally, this year's Stanley Kramer Award was presented to Jim Sheridan, George's screenwriting collaborator on In the Name of the Father and The Boxer, for In America.
