As part of the celebration of the Ark's first five years, it has announced a number of initiatives which will see its work sailing out of Temple Bar on a flood tide and becoming a resource for more and more of the nation's children: The Ark Trust: The Ark Cultural Trust for Children, established last year, is charged with ensuring that the Ark is adequately resourced into the future and with raising funds for specific development projects.

It plans to raise £2 million over five years. It is working to bring the Ark's work out of the centre itself in several ways, via "big horizons" and "small harbours":

ArkLink: focusing on children in community settings of socio-economic disadvantage. A project is in place in Dublin's Fatima Mansions.

The Healing Ark: focusing on children in hospital and similar environments. A project is in place in Temple Street Hospital.
