The monthly antiques and books fair in Dublin's Newman House takes place tomorrow; over 40 dealers will be present. Signed editions of work by Yeats, Arthur Rackham and Harry Clarke, will be on offer, together with motoring and railway memorabilia, such as a 1920's book, The World Within Wheels by O.H. Duncan. A selection of Flora Mitchell's Dublin prints and a quantity of 19th century maps of Ireland are other items in the fair, while the antiques section has such diverse pieces as a small 19th century giltwood table by William Fry of Dublin and Victorian architectural brass.

Over 40 dealers for toys and trains fair

The Rochestown Lodge Hotel in Dun Laoghaire, Co Dublin, is the venue for tomorrow's toy and train collectors fair, starting at 11 a.m. Two rooms in the hotel have been set aside for toys such as diecast models by Corgi and Dinky, construction sets of Meccano and Bayko, lead soldiers by Britains and Crescent and trains by Hornby, Triang, Trix, Wrenn and Marklin. Among more than 65 tables to be served by 40-plus dealers from this country and abroad will be some offering antique dolls, comics and television and film annuals, jigsaws, teddy bears and McDonalds toys, plus books and catalogues by well-known manufacturers.

A special book sale catering for a wide variety of tastes takes place today and tomorrow at the AOH Hall, Main Street, Enniskerry, Co Wicklow, starting at 11 a.m. on both occasions. Items of local interest will feature strongly, as well as a very large selection of Irish literature, both antiquarian and modern. A topographic section will also be included.

Rare Victorian drinking fountain in castle fair

A rare Victorian cast-iron drinking fountain, complete with drinking cup on a chain, will be among the items on offer at the Dublin Castle antiques and collectables fair tomorrow.

The fountain also has instructions on it reading: "Please Keep Pavement Dry". The fair will feature a number of art deco pieces, including lights and a large mahogany and brass coat stand. Other items on offer include prints, books, maps, medals, china, porcelain, old advertising and small furniture. The fair, which is being held in the Old Coach House, opens at 10.30 a.m.
