Composer Edward Shearmur ( Sky Captain and the World of Tomorrow, Cruel Intentions, Miss Congeniality) has written a remarkably beguiling score for Passengers, a thriller. For its story about a grief counsellor working with a group of plane-crash survivors who begin to disappear mysteriously, the award-winning British composer combines short melodies and sinuous polyrhythms with delicate piano, elegant strings and brooding electronic percussion to create a score of unusual emotional intensity and visceral urgency.

At once elegiac and tender, with moments of pulsing tension and shimmering enigma - (particularly At the Museum, Norman's House, Eric Remembersand What Do You Remember) Passengersconfirms Shearmur's growing reputation as a versatile and sophisticated talent.
