And when the official Star Wars Twitter account announced that the first trailer for Star Wars: Episode VII – The Force Awakens will be available online Friday via Apple iTunes. the web erupted with giddy anticipation.

Disney that the first official trailer would only be shown in select US theaters beginning today. It presumably changed its mind when someone mentioned the existence of fanboys, smartphones and the internet.
So instead we get the official high-def trailer rather than a poor-quality whoop-and-cheer laden cammed version. Enjoy …
Star Wars: Episode VII – The Force Awakens is directed by JJ Abrams and stars Harrison Ford, Carrie Fisher, Mark Hamill, Anthony Daniels, Peter Mayhew, and Kenny Baker from the original trilogy, alongside newcomers Gwendoline Christie, Lupita Nyong’o, John Boyega, Daisy Ridley, Adam Driver, Oscar Isaac, Andy Serkis, Domhnall Gleeson, and Max von Sydow. It is due for release in December 2015.
