My native county: Armagh
Jarlath Burns (above), teacher, chairman of the GAA Players Committee, and captain of Armagh's All-Ireland- winning football team in 1999
Three of my favourite places:
1 Creggan in south Co Armagh, where I spent most of my childhood, is also the birthplace of the famous Irish 17th-century poets, Art McCooey and Padraig Mac Giolla Fhiondain. I am particularly interested in the Bardic poetry in the Irish language.
2 The place where I moved to, Mullaghbán, and where I now live, is steeped in Irish myth and legend. It's in the shadow of the world-famous Slieve Gullion, which is connected to Conor McNeasa and the Red Branch Knights. It's absolutely outstandingly beautiful. It's a big volcanic mountain, surrounded by a range of about 20 smaller mountains that stand guard.
3 Cullyhanna, because it is the birthplace of the Cardinal, who was the much revered Cardinal Tomás Ó Fiaich, and also the place where I went to St Patrick's Primary School. In the middle of these three areas is Silverbridge GAA Club, which links all three areas. This place is a state of mind; it's probably where my heart and soul really lie. - Catherine Foley
