Demonstrating the on-going demand for good quality mahogany furniture, an early 19th century hall table in the style of George Smith sold for £4,500 at the Thomas Adams & Co rooms last Tuesday and an extending dining table circa 1840 (damaged) made £4,000. In similar condition to the latter lot, both a Victorian mahogany library table and an early Victorian mahogany writing table sold for £900 each, and a German burr walnut-cased boudoir grand piano made £1,200. Among the silver on offer, an Irish Victorian tea service dating from 1829 fetched £2,100 and £640 was paid for a George III chamber stick made in London in 1772.
