November is traditionally the time for story-telling in Ireland, it seems, and all through the month from Thursday Two Chairs Company is running a story-telling festival called Scealta Shamhna - translation, for foreigners and the educationally underprivileged only: "Stories of Samhain, the Celtic festival of Hallowe'en". There will be story-telling for adults in Collins Barracks every Thursday evening at 8 p.m. and for children at the Ark every Saturday morning at 11 a.m. Among the story-tellers who have been invited are Muriel Bloch from France, Laura Simms from the US, Liz Weir from the North, Irish/Caribbean duo Kate Corkery and Winston Nzinga, Tuup from Guyana and Aodh Breathnach from Ireland who is 12 years old and tells stories in Irish from the Donegal tradition.
