POPULAR among politicians and trade unionists, the theme of this year's school is From Lemass to the Millennium - Ireland at the Heart of Europe. Mary O'Rourke, John Morgan, Maurice Manning and Paul Arthur will address a symposium on the Lemass legacy today at Moyne College, Ballina, Co Mayo.

RTE foreign editor Andrew Shepard and Danish radio foreign editor Niels Lindvig are among those who will speak at the foreign policy forum tomorrow at the Downhill Hotel, Ballina, while ICTU president Peter Cassells and Irish Export Board head Alan P. McCarthy will discuss the EMU, later in the day at the same venue.

Peter Sutherland, former director of GATT and chairman of Goldman Sachs International, will give the Sean Lemass Memorial Address at 8 p.m. tomorrow evening. Tel 096-34117.
