Bob Dylan releases his 41st album for Columbia next autumn

Bob Dylan releases his 41st album for Columbia next autumn. Entitled Time Out Of Mind, it contains 11 songs, the first Dylan-penned material since 1990's Under The Red Sky. Tracks are: Lovesick, Dirt Road Blues, Standing In The Doorway, Million Miles, Trying To Get To Heaven, Till I Fell In Love With You, Not Dark Yet, Cold Irons Bound, Make You Feel My Love, Can't Wait and High Lands.

The album was produced by Daniel Lanois, who last worked with Dylan on Oh Mercy, and whose CV includes such names as U2 and Peter Gabriel. Lanois also plays a number of instruments on the new album; other musicians on the record include Jim Dickinson, Augie Myers, Duke Robillard and Cindy Cashdollar. Dylan, now recovered from the heart scare which forced him to cancel UK and Irish dates earlier this summer, expressed his pleasure at working with the multi-talented Lanois. "It seems like we've always had some kind of understanding," said Dylan. "We talked about these songs and how they should sound before we recorded them."
