TIM Burton's 1993 stop-motion fantasy gets a third dimension in what seems to be becoming a holiday perennial.
As with most Burton projects, the thin story (the denizens of Halloween Town take over Christmas) is overpowered by the deliciousness of the images.
Never mind.
The director (stop-motion wizard Henry Selick) and the 3-D boffins have done a decent job isolating things to hurl at the audience without turning it into a carnival sideshow, and the flick remains properly disrespectful to gooey Christmas icons.
Directed by Henry Selick. Voices of Chris Sarandon, Danny Elfman, Catherine O'Hara, Paul Reubens PG cert, lim release, 76 min ***
