FOLK
The Staves

To the uninitiated, Emily, Jessica and Camilla Stavely-Taylor might seem like three winsome sisters straight out of a Jane Austen novel, but when you see and hear them you'll realise they are made of much sterner stuff. They swear, too. Their new EP, Blood I Bled, will be ripped into – we've heard it, and it's folking terrific.

TRADITIONAL
We Banjo 3
Spiegeltent Festival, Wexford 10pm €22 wexfordspiegeltent.com
The Howley and Scahill brothers bring finesse and remarkable fluency to tunes and songs drawn from Irish, Appalachian and American Old Time music. They're no mean hands at composition either. Although their two albums to date have taken the banjo to new heights, it is their live shows that illustrate what the band is really about. This spiegeltent setting promises to up the ante even further.
