After five weeks shooting in Wicklow and Dublin, production on Dragnet moves to Germany this weekend for a fortnight at a studio in Cologne.
Not to be confused with the 1950s TV crime series starring Jack Webb nor the 1987 comedy featuring Dan Aykroyd and Tom Hanks, the new Dragnet is an action-drama in which a crew attempts to save their Scottish trawler by smuggling Chinese immigrants into Britain. Dragnet is the working title for the film, which stars Martin Compston and Peter Mullan (pictured above), along with Gary Lewis. It marks the feature film debut for writer-director Steve Hudson, who won the award for best European short at the 2004 Venice festival with his film Goodbye.
