Fans of Sharon Horgan’s Bafta award-winning comedy, Motherland, can look forward to a new spin-off series focusing on actor Lucy Punch’s character Amanda.

The first trailer for Amandaland, which is due to air on BBC, has been revealed. Teasing some of the antics to come, the preview shows Amanda has been taken down a peg or two and forced to downsize.

The upcoming show follows Amanda through her divorce while her children Manus and Georgie have entered their terrible teens, bringing her back into contact with Anne (Phillipa Dunne) whose son goes to the same school.

When it turns out her daughter has befriended the child of celebrity chef Della, played by Derry Girls star Siobhán McSweeney, will Amanda choose rekindling an old friendship over social climbing? Tensions are still high with Amanda’s mother Felicity (Joanna Lumley), who is suspiciously keen to babysit. Amandaland premieres on BBC One and BBC iPlayer at 9pm on Wednesday, February 5th.
