Worthy winners of the recent Choice Music Prize Album of 2010 award, this Bangor trio have surprised many industry observers with their stealthy approach to success. Having sold more than 100,000 copies of their debut album, Tourist History, in the UK, it would seem that Two Door Cinema Club are on their way. Last week in London they played a sold-out gig at one 3,000- capacity venue; these Irish dates are similarly stuffed.

Certainly there is value in the band’s ability to distill positivity and charm into a sugar-rush pop/punk song, and although some might rightly argue that their current set (which is little more than the album accompanied by a few new songs) borders on the brief, there’s a lot to be said for quality over quantity.

Don’t have a ticket for these gigs? Don’t worry – we’re sure they’ll be back during the summer.
