TI CHULAINN Cultural Activity Centre, the innovative, community led, bi lingual centre in the Slieve Gullion mountains in south Armagh, has recently announced its programme for the coming year and it promises to be an eventful one.

Saturday February 22nd will see Donncha O Muineachain, a former All Ireland champion, in charge of the Stepdance Workshops. He will concentrate on helping individuals with basic skills to become more proficient.

Adult Drama, workshops are also available between February 28th and March 14th. These have been organised in conjunction with Lislea Drama Festival.

March will see the launch of Eigse Thi Chutaina bi lingual literary weekend which will be of interest to both Irish speakers and those who simply have an interest in literature and the Irish language. Of course, poetry was no stranger to the south Armagh/north Louth region and the names of Art Mac Cubhmhaigh, Peadar O Doirnin and Seamus Dall Mac Cuarta are associated with the area. The event will begin on Friday March 14th with a lecture and will continue on Saturday 15th with workshops in poetry and prose, readings and lectures, a night of traditional song and poetry. Sunday 16th will be taken up with new writing and readings followed by a discussion forum. There will also be a tour of the area - Turas Rian na bhFili (The Poets Trail). Registration for the weekend costs £20.
