German director Uwe Boll is so incensed by scathing reviews for his horror movies BloodRayne (starring Ben Kingsley, Kristanna Loken and Michelle Rodriguez) and Alone in the Dark (with Christian Slater) that he has challenged his harshest critics to a series of boxing matches, which he plans to insert into his latest videogame adaptation, Postal.
Boll has issued a call for submissions to find his fiercest detractors, who will be flown on an expenses-paid trip to the Vancouver set in late September. To qualify for the bouts, candidates must have posted online or written in print two "extremely negative" articles in 2005.
"I'm fed up with people slamming my films on the internet without seeing them," Boll says. "Many journalists make value judgments on my films based on the opinions of one or two thousand internet voices. Half of those opinions come from people who've never watched my films."
